ADULT BASKETBALL

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUES AT HILL CITY SPORTS CENTER

The Hill City Basketball League (HCBL) is a competitive adult men’s league hosted by Hill City Sports Center, specifically designed for teams seeking a more intense experience than traditional recreational play. The HCBL focuses on high-level competition, tracked standings, and championship play where results on the court truly matter.

Our inaugural Fall/Winter HCBL season will feature one open division for a 16-week season consisting of a 12-week regular season followed by a 4-week single-elimination HCBL Tournament.

During the regular season, teams will battle to improve their records and standings to secure the best possible postseason seeding. Your team’s performance throughout the season will dictate tournament placement and may offer competitive advantages in the playoff bracket.

Following the regular season, qualifying teams will enter the HCBL Tournament. This single-elimination phase is win-or-go-home as teams fight for the honor of being named the first HCBL Champion.

This first season builds the competitive groundwork for the future of the league, including our upcoming Premier League and League One structure. Results from Year One will determine where teams are placed within this new competitive system moving forward.

  • A minimum of 4 rostered players must be present at the start of the game.
Team Creation Process
  • To establish a new competitive team within the HCBL:
    • Choose the “Register a Team” option in our system.
    • Provide your team name and generate a specific access code for your roster.
    • Identify yourself as the Team Captain, Manager, or Head Coach.
    • Distribute the unique code to the athletes you wish to invite to your team.

    • Obtain the necessary registration code from your designated Team Captain or Manager.
    • Finalize your personal registration, submit payment, and complete all required waivers.
Free Agent Opportunities
  • Individuals without a team may register as an HCBL Free Agent.
  • The league will make every effort to place free agents with teams in need or form a new house team if numbers allow.
  • Registration as a free agent does not guarantee a roster spot. Placement is ultimately determined by the approval of team managers.

We accept all major credit cards. All credit card transactions include a 3% processing fee. We do not accept debit cards. Cash, check, and ACH payments are accepted at the front desk.

A non-refundable annual administrative fee of $10 per person is required for all participants registering for internal programs.

ROSTER MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE

HCBL prioritizes competitive consistency and established team continuity.

  • A minimum of 8 players is required, with a suggested roster size of 8–12 athletes.
  • No individual may participate without being officially registered and added to the roster.
  • Dual rostering across multiple teams within the same season is strictly prohibited.
  • Rosters must be finalized by the roster-lock deadline, which occurs on the opening day of regular season play.
  • Utilizing ineligible players will lead to game forfeiture and potential disciplinary measures from the league.
  • Teams must have matching jerseys with differing numbers. Jerseys are not provided by league staff.
Guest Player Policy

The HCBL does not permit temporary or pay-per-game guest players.

Because every matchup impacts standings, seeding, and future league placement, only properly registered team members may take the court.

GAME DAY ESSENTIALS

  • Valid government-issued photo identification
  • Standard basketball footwear and athletic equipment
  • Official team jersey/uniform
  • Signed and filed HCSC liability waiver

Participation is strictly denied to any player without a valid registration or completed waiver on file.

We encourage all athletes to monitor DaySmart and HCBL emails for the latest schedules, standings, and league announcements.

LEAGUE POLICIES

Player Identification

Rosters are verified by HCBL staff. ID checks may be conducted prior to tip-off or at any interval throughout the season to ensure compliance.

Financial Terms

Fees must be settled by the stated HCSC deadlines. Failure to complete registration or payment will result in player ineligibility.

All account credits and refund requests are governed by the general policies of the Hill City Sports Center.

Competitive Standards

The integrity of our standings, postseason brackets, and future divisional placement depends on the legitimacy of established team rosters.

Any attempt to bypass eligibility rules through unregistered players or unauthorized roster changes will lead to forfeits, suspensions, or league banishment.

CONDUCT & SPORTSMANSHIP

The HCBL is a high-level competitive environment, where intense play is expected. However, all participants must maintain respect for the officials, HCSC staff, and their opponents.

Misconduct, including threats, fighting, or intentional harm toward others, will result in immediate ejection and comprehensive disciplinary review.

Sanctions may include multi-game suspensions, permanent removal from the league, or a ban from the Hill City Sports Center facility.

Play with intensity. Represent your team with pride. Respect the game.

EARN YOUR PLACE. DEFEND YOUR PLACE.
